What channel is Houston vs. Miami on today? Time, TV schedule to watch March Madness Sweet 16 game

Houston and Miami are set to face off in one of the more interesting Sweet 16 matchups — one that will cost one of those teams a repeat berth in the Elite Eight.

Both Kelvin Sampson’s Cougars and Jim Larrañaga’s Hurricanes will look to reach that stage once again. Sampson’s team is not only the 1 seed in the Midwest Region, but also the No. 2 overall seed in the tournament. The Cougars also made the 2021 Final Four, falling just short of the national championship game.

Larrañaga’s Hurricanes reached the furthest stage of the NCAA Tournament last season by making the Elite Eight. If they are to attempt a run even further into March Madness, they’ll need to get by Sampson and consensus All-America selection Marcus Sasser first.

Sasser continues his recovery from a groin issue, which will be of paramount importance to the Cougars’ hopes of reaching the Elite Eight again. He was limited to five points on 2-of-5 shooting and two rebounds in Houston’s Round 1 game vs. Northern Kentucky; he rebounded against Auburn with a 22-point game on 7-of-14 shooting in the Round of 32, but admitted after the game he was in pain against the Tigers.

Miami’s Isaiah Wong had a similar turnaround for Miami, tying his season-low in points (five) against Drake. Against Indiana, he had 27 points and eight rebounds as the Hurricanes upended the Hoosiers 85-69. If Miami is to get by its second higher-seeded opponent in as many games, Wong will need to be a big part of the game plan.
